For companies and certain taxpayers, e-filing without a DSC isn't optional. Here's why it's required and how it fits in.
Income tax and GST returns can be filed with either a Digital Signature Certificate or an Aadhaar-based OTP, depending on the type of taxpayer. For companies and LLPs, however, DSC-based filing is mandatory — OTP-based verification isn't an option.
Because the same Class 3 DSC can usually be mapped across the income tax portal, the GST portal and MCA, it's worth setting it up once correctly rather than scrambling before a filing deadline.
